We Have Links With...
UBC maintains good mission links both locally and globally and believe that having an understanding and heart of how our God engages throughout the world in mission enables us to have a clear understanding of how God engages us with local mission.
We support many varied mission activities throughout the world.
Over the past year we have supported:
- BETEL UK
- BMS Nepal
- MAF Caribbean Devastation
- T4U Shoe boxes
- Angel Tree
- Slavic Gospel Association
- Sight Concern
- Tear Fund East Africa Appeal
BMS Link Missionary
We are keen supporters of the work of BMS and regularly have visits from our BMS link workers Phil and Liz Lewis.
Churches Together in Upton
Upton is a community where good communications and co-operation exists between the three churches (Anglican. Baptist and Roman Catholic) and CTU has been in operation for the past 30 years plus. A Covenant agreed by all three churches exists. The covenant is renewed annually in a special service during the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity in January. Representatives from each of the churches form a committee that organises joint church events. These include Lent lunches with donations for a Christian charity, a Remembrance Day service and various Christmas activities.
We are both a collection point and act as a referral agent for the local food bank. To enquire about a referral email firstname.lastname@example.org or pop into the church office or phone 01684 594991
When there is a festival in town – and there are lots – we join with the community by opening the church to serve tea, coffee and snacks. We provide a quiet place for people to dip out of the noise and bustle for a few moments to enjoy refreshments in the church garden. These events will be advertised online and outside the church.
Regents (Elim) College
We regularly have students from Regents College worshipping with us. A core group also help out at Friday evening Thirst.
Upton upon Severn Primary School
We have strong links with our local primary. Our church are involved in regularly leading assemblies at the school. The school also visit the church to support their RE learning.
