Sunday Services

Our morning service starts at 10.30am and lasts around an hour and a half. We have children and young people’s activities (see below) and our services are suitable for all ages. To see the details of the next Sunday morning service take a look at this week at Upton Baptist Church on our home page.

Our evening service starts at 6.30pm and tends to be a more informal and relaxed style. We don’t currently have any children’s activities during this service. The style and focus of the evening service changes from week to week. To find out more about the next evening service take a look at this week at Upton Baptist Church.

Church Calendar

Prayer

Prayer plays a vital part in the life of UBC.

We have a weekly prayer meeting on Monday at 9.30am in the church. The first Monday of the month this is held at the Bell House Cafe in New Street, Upton.

We have a local House of Prayer that meets each Friday afternoon at 4pm. This is often held in conjunction with the local Anglican congregation. In the main we pray for the blessing of our community. It has been amazing to see how the Lord blesses as we pray. The location varies.
For details contact Annie Portsmouth 01684 592079

We also believe that it is important that we call the church to actively pray and we have an effective prayer chain based upon e-mail which enables our prayer life to be expressed as a whole church activity.
If you would like prayer please contact us at prayer.chain@uptonbaptistchurch.co.uk

Children and Young People

We believe that a diverse community is a healthy community and we consider it a blessing to have all ages within our church family. Children and young people are a vital part of that community and we provide a variety of different activities that cater for all ages.

Upton Tuesday Evening Group
Tuesday evening 7.30pm at church. Contact Gerald daytime 01684 591122 or evening 01684 833794

Tuesday Evening Group
Meets at 7.30pm in different people’s houses. Sometimes there’s a Bible study that all the groups are doing, and at other times members of the group choose what we’d like to study. We also invite visitors to come and speak to us, such as people that we have a connection with who are doing missionary work in different parts of the world. We have a social evening a few times a year to which we invite friends.
For the this week’s venue and further information contact Pam Ditchburn 01684 311929 or pam.ditchburn@uptonbaptistchurch.co.uk

Upton Thursday Afternoon Group
Meets at 2.30 – 4.30pm. We meet to study the Bible and for fellowship and we finish with a time of prayer. Sometimes we use study notes but usually we read aloud the passage for the week from our Bibles, each of us reading a verse in turn, then we discuss what it says and what it means. Questions are asked to make us read the study notes in our Bibles, look up references or think about how what we have read applies in our lives in the world today. We follow special courses for Lent and Advent to prepare us for Easter and Christmas. Most people’s lives tend to be busy and it’s good to stop and think about what those times really mean to us.
